What is the difference between iOS and Android app design?

iOS and Android have distinct design languages, interaction conventions, and user expectations. iOS follows Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) the design principles Apple uses to evaluate apps at App Store review. Key iOS conventions: bottom tab bar for primary navigation, navigation stack (push/pop) for hierarchy, sheets for contextual actions, SF Symbols for iconography, and semantic colour tokens for automatic dark/light mode adaptation. Android follows Material Design 3 (M3) Google's design system. Key Android conventions: bottom navigation bar (M3), navigation drawer for extended menus, FAB (floating action button) for primary actions, M3 component library (NavigationBar, TopAppBar, Cards), and dynamic colour extracted from the user's wallpaper (Android 12+). Designing to the wrong platform convention confuses users and risks App Store rejection for non-HIG-compliant iOS apps.

How much does mobile app design cost?

Mobile app design costs range from $3,000 for a UX audit to $40,000 for a complete iOS + Android cross-platform design. An iOS app design costs $8,000-28,000 depending on feature complexity and screen count. An Android app design costs $8,000-28,000. Both platforms designed simultaneously costs $12,000-40,000. App Store screenshots for both stores cost $2,500-5,000. Combined design and development engagements (ClickMasters designs and builds the app) cost $28,000-85,000.

What does a mobile app Figma handoff include?

A mobile app Figma handoff from ClickMasters includes: all screens at all sizes (iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone SE for iOS the two most divergent screen sizes; standard phone and tablet for Android), all interactive states documented (default, pressed, disabled, loading, error, empty, success), all platform-specific component variants (iOS sheet vs Android bottom sheet, iOS navigation bar vs Android top app bar), dark mode and light mode variants, exact specifications for developer implementation (spacing, typography scale, colour tokens with platform-correct names), motion specifications for transitions and micro-interactions, and accessibility annotations (minimum touch target compliance, ARIA equivalents for screen reader implementation). For design + development engagements, the Figma file is directly consumed by our engineers no translation loss.

Can you redesign an existing mobile app?

Yes. Mobile app redesign is one of ClickMasters' most common design engagements. The process: UX audit of the current app (heuristic evaluation against HIG or Material 3 standards, identification of usability issues, conversion funnel analysis for key flows), analytics review (screen abandonment rates, flow completion rates, crash-related UX issues from Crashlytics), stakeholder interviews (what is the redesign achieving new feature parity, brand update, UX improvement, platform compliance), high-fidelity redesign in Figma (same feature set, improved UX and visual design), and usability testing comparison (new design vs. old design with real users validate before building). App Store screenshots are redesigned as part of every app redesign engagement.
